In the last twenty years ITALGRU has further specialized in the construction of: Mobile harbour cranes, Off-shore cranes, Cranes for shipyards, Special cranes for the steel sector and other sectors requiring high load capacity and special design features.

The range of ITALGRU mobile Harbour cranes starts from the IHC 320 with a minimum capacity of 25 t and arrives to the IHC 3160 with a maximum capacity of 160 t. Our off-shore cranes, installable on off-shore oil or hydrocarbon drilling rigs, cargo vessel, FPSO, FSO, barges, from a minimum of 2 t to a maximum of 350 t, and beyond under request. As regards cranes for other sectors, ITALGRU has already produced equipments with lift ranging from 7 t to 350 t.

The company acquires a large strategic industrial site of 130,000 m , with 22000 m of buildings and served from a railway-junction. This investment and the continuous widening of the same productive area is the consequence of the necessity to satisfy the growing demand for machines of larger size and performance.

ITALGRU is acquired by the BONFANTI Group, that takes over the know-how, the production plant, the technical archives and the personnel. ITALGRU operate in a plant that occupies an area of 25,000 sq.mt. in Lecco.

With the production of its rubber tyred mobile harbour cranes ITALGRU achieves the important goal of covering the complete range of machinery for handling heavy loads, and concentrates its efforts on technological improvement by expanding its design sector and setting up its own “Quality Control” function applied to all the equipment, with rigorous and accurate laboratory tests on the materials.

ITALGRU has continued along the same path and, thanks to the excellent quality of its engineers, its workforce and its management, has achieved steady growth in terms of production and sales in the sector of hoisting equipment.

With the supply of 90 mobile truck cranes to Italian military Engineers corps, the society obtains the definitive achievement in the Italian market. Thanks to this important success ITG finds the impulse to grow commercially and technologically.

Anticipating what would become is market philosophy, ITALGRU took an important step forward in the field of truck cranes when it presented its model AG 30, with a maximum capacity of 30 tons, that at the time was the largest truck crane produced in Italy.

ITALGRU S.r.l. is born with the merger of a small manufacturer of hoisting equipment and a private group operating in the commercial sector. From the outset the company undertook a vigorous plan of restructuring and reorganization in order to perfect its production and achieve the position of leadership it now holds in the sectors of mobile dockside and off-shore cranes.
